Cartoon sites are a dime a dozen, but one thing that's not as often found are gay sites like Spunk Toons. After seeing so many of the standard straight hentai and anime, I can honestly say that I found this site to be refreshing. Now, I may not be a gay guy, but at least I can appreciate guy-on-guy action, especially when the fantasy surpasses all the ordinary suck and fuck that you get when purchasing reality porn.
SpunkToons is actually the first gay toon site that I've come across in my reviewing career, so it's an even more exciting trip to be a first timer looking in on the homo-toon world. The tour promises weekly updates, but when you get into the members' area, then you discover you actually get about three updates every week, which surpasses my expectations. There are also a couple of extras, and you'll find some adult games and access to a site called AsianGuys. However, when I went to see what this site was all about, I didn't find any content in its pages, so I wasn't sure what was up with this. In any case, there's more than enough on SpunkToons to keep you going.
Aside from the games and archives, there are 10 categories, which include 3D, Exclusive, DVD Video, Superheroes, Shemales, Toons, Animations, Series Art and Gay Love. In total, this includes 225 toon sets, 6 plugin movies and 12 downloadable videos. I was seriously expecting more films and felt a bit disappointed because even when looking at the still toons or narrative series, there were only about 15 to 25 panels in each. Obviously, there are no graphic novels. The Series Art area is the only place you'll find storylines, but they were a bit brief for my liking. Other categories contained pictorials with around 15 images, and while I love being able to fill in my own fantasy story, I think part of the whole excitement of toons is being able to immerse into a wicked and fantastical world created by someone else. Sure, the art is good, but I really missed the narrative.
Image sizes vary from one category to another, and the largest I found were 1000x627 .jpgs. The other disappointment was that you couldn't download full sets in one zip file. If you love a particular set, then you need to save images one at a time to your computer. Even if there weren't any dialogue balloons, the pictorials were easy to follow, and there were some good, albeit brief fantasies. I particularly liked one with a dirty old doctor taking full advantage of his twink patient. Other scenes include superheroes with super-sized cum loads, massive cock sizes, incredible samurai style sex positions and nasty shemales.
The plugin movies were good and had solid stories. Some were mixed with a bit of humour and I found a lot of stereotypical gay characters like the leather daddy, the jock bi-guy, the twink and the bitch queen. The other films took a while to download and even though there aren't many of them they were both creative and exciting. When I began to watch the 2000Kbps 640x480 Windows Media Video I realized that this was a one and a half minute part of a longer film, so in fact there aren't 13 flicks, but only one split into clips. Even more disappointing was the realization that this wasn't even an exclusive film. I can't recall which site I'd seen it on, but I have seen it before. In any case, the quality is excellent, I just wished there were more videos to watch.
Final Verdict
I was initially very excited about this site, but the more I started exploring it, the more disappointed I became. The only good thing about Spunk Toons is that it offers some gay themes where most toon sites offer straight content. However, I really wasn't pleased to find so few films and I wasn't really all that happy and excited by the toon pictorials. The artwork was good and I particularly loved that there were some exclusive toons, but the majority of content appears to come from third parties.
